Banking and Finance. It is NOT my cup of coffee. U of B makes it worse. If I could, I would go back and choose either BIS, English Lit or Interior Design. Things I can create in.

I study English Language & Literature and my minor is American Studies. All what I can say about my major is that it is a wonderful world. I advice you to take English Literature if you like reading. You won’t find any other major where you get to do fun things (Reading stories could be very amusing sometimes) while you are studying
.

Well, I am BIS student, it is my 1st choice but yea, it seems that I failed somehow.
I like it, as a mixture (IT Business). But subjects interestingness has nothing to do with your GPA..
I dunno if I can recommend it to you ..

i studied Civil Engineering and i dont recommend it to girls.

MBC, I thought about it, it’s interesting but my English is not that good ! do all people who choose it have to have an advanced English?
Ali7, I have no idea about business! so It may be hard to me at the beginning !

March 25th, 2008 at 2:56 pm

don’t rush into it, get accepted into uni, and do a semester of electives if you can, choose random subjects and see what you enjoy doing and go for it, this sense of confusion is the toughest feeling in the world, and its very disturbing, just step back and look at the bigger picture, and you’ll find what you’re looking for after a certain amount of soul searching..goodluck

Sous :
Pardon, this is really confusing ..
No one should count on “changing his/her major” ..
Stability is a good thing ..
Cookie :
BIS “would” be good choice, but..
Computer Science subjects (4 in the entire plan) are the most hated by girls here ..
if you have problem with that : reconsider.
otherwise : welcome to our department .
March 26th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
sous, I think that is a big risk you know! I may lose a year trying to find what I like
.. umm yes this feeling is annoying I hate it and I want it to go away by making the right decision. Thank you sista
Ali, umm ! I think people who choose BIS and IT should expect such subjects ! umnn I am interested but I may lose faith on my self at some point cause I don’t have a good background , I am a good learner though
March 26th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
I know people with no-programming-background and they got A’s and B’s .. this is ironic .. but ..it may works for you also ..
Anyway you shall check the list of courses :

Go for something that fulfills the following:
Really, listen to yourself and not to “trends” in studying:
RULES for MAJOR
1- You believe you’ll enjoy (during your university studying years).
2- There are jobs for this major (they don’t have to be plenty, but some jobs should at least exist).
3- You’ll do alright in (sometimes you think something is nice to study, good for a career… but when you start studying, you don’t see yourself doing much more than just passing your exams… or maybe failing). Choose something you can be unique in, and do rather well in.
Do you like Multimedia?
Do you like graphic design (to learn to do some cartoons)?
By the way, most the people I know who take BIS, just find ways of not drowning in UOB, they just wanna survive. Not more, not less. But there are those good computer freaks that do so well, Mashallah.
I study MASS COMMUNICATION in UOB. I LOVE it. I don’t even regret it, not even a single bit.
After one year, you get to choose a MAJOR, they are:
Radio and Television OR Journalism OR Multi Media OR Public Relations.
I chose RADIO and TELEVISION. The work we have to do kills, but it’s soooooo enjoyable.
UOB STUDENT
